Walk on the Hill


Walk on the Hill is a spring garden tour in the historic district held the last Sunday afternoon in April.



May


Viva! Vienna!



The annual ViVa! Vienna! Town Festival is held on Church Street during Memorial Day weekend. Festivities include arts and crafts vendors, live music, food and beverage sales, children's entertainment, a special Memorial Day ceremony and booths showcasing Vienna area businesses and community service organizations. ViVa! Vienna! is operated by the Vienna Rotary Club.  


 


June – September


Free Performance Series


Concerts on the Green is a free performance series located in the heart of downtown Vienna held on Friday and Sunday evenings in the summer.  Events include concerts, magic shows, dance performances, etc.  Patrons bring chairs a picnic basket and enjoy the laid back atmosphere and the community interaction.


Chillin’ on Church


it's a community block party!  Held along historic Church Street from 6:30-9:30 p.m. the third Friday of each month. Activities include music, food trucks, beer and wine sales, and family fun.


Woltrap’s Theatre in the Woods


Enjoy the beloved outdoor theatre for children, which has been a tradition for generations. At Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods, summer is all about music, dance, puppetry, and storytelling.


July


4th of July Celebration


A super observance of our nation's birthday is held each July 4 at Yeonas Park.  Free fireworks display, live music and more.


May – October


Farmer’s Market



Every Saturday, Vienna caters to your desire for fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, meats, baked goods, donuts, crepes, coffee and much more. Located at the Faith Baptist Church Parking lot (301 Center Street), most of the farmers and producers sell only what they grow, raise or make on their own farms.


 


 


October


Oktoberfest


Oktoberfest is held the first Saturday of October. The day's activities include food, entertainment, vendors and crafters, children's events and the beer garden.          


Halloween Parade


One of Vienna's most popular community events, October's Halloween parade is held on Maple Avenue the Wednesday evening before Halloween each year (except when Halloween falls on Thursday, in which case the parade is held the preceding week). In addition to marching bands, floats and other entries, children are invited to walk in the parade in their Halloween costumes.




November


Holiday Stroll


The annual Holiday Stroll on historic Church Street is held the Monday evening after Thanksgiving. Church Street is closed to vehicular traffic between Lawyers Road and Mill Street and visitors are invited to stroll along the street amid the sights and sounds of the holiday season. Santa Claus greets children at the Freeman House.



Winter Walk of Lights



More than a half mile of paved trail adorned with lighted trees, nature displays and holiday themes with an animated light show with over 40,000 lights set to music – walk along this trail at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens and end the evening by the fire pit with light refreshments and roasted marshmallows.


 



 


ANY TIME of the YEAR!




Experience historical Colvin Run Mill for a leisurely afternoon enjoying the simple past-times common in the early 19th century. Have a picnic, shop at the General Store for stone ground cornmeal, wheat flour and grits, "penny" candy, toys, books, jewelry, snacks and drinks. Take a short stroll on the nature trail or a longer hike on the nearby Cross County or Rails to River trails. February through December, enjoy special programs including live music, craft demonstrations, ice cream making, seasonal activities like Country Christmas with Santa and more!


Woltrap Center for the Performing Arts hosts something for everyone with performances ranging from pop, country, folk, and blues to orchestra, dance, theatre, and opera, as well as music and art classes for babies to adults,
